Reflections for this Year
Hope everyone is well, and we’re praying for all those in the path of this big winter storm. We’ve been preparing as best we can, though it’s hard to know exactly what to anticipate. After Helene and being without power for a week, we’re doing our best to be ready this time.
In the middle of all this, we’re also bringing home pigs before the storm hits. We’ve been planning for months, just not expecting the biggest winter storm to arrive right alongside them. 😊 We’re getting a boar, a sow, and a little piglet. The sow is supposedly pregnant, so in a few months we may have tiny piglets running around.
When we had sheep, I was privileged to witness the birth of four lambs, such a beautiful experience. I’ve heard the horror stories about pigs, mothers eating or accidentally crushing their piglets, but I’m reminding myself that this isn’t the majority of the time. Stay tuned.
As we ease back into the rhythm of life after the holidays and look ahead to the coming year, this season of pausing has been such a gift. Time to reflect on what worked last year, what didn’t, and which habits I want to exchange for better ones.
That reflection naturally led me back to Boundless Sol. The overwhelming support has been so encouraging and honestly gave me the push I really needed. When people who don’t know me well ask about my life, I often say I’ve lived about fifty different lives. But never, not once, did I imagine I’d be making tallow or studying medicinal remedies. That definitely wasn’t on my bingo card.
Yet the thread that ties it all together has always been the same, helping people.
I’m not saying tallow heals bodies. Sometimes skin issues reflect deeper root causes. But seeing relief, and receiving almost weekly messages about how this tallow has helped, is what keeps me going.
Recently, I received a review that made my heart swell. A close friend had just had a baby, and I sent her the Charley Balm tallow. I didn’t know her daughter had been struggling with a rash on her arm until weeks later, when she texted me to share how much the balm helped.
This was her sweet review:
“This balm has been a game changer for my daughter. She had a stubborn eczema spot on her arm that wouldn’t go away for almost a year. We tried at least ten different products and nothing worked. Within two days of using Charley 13, we noticed a big improvement and it was cleared up within a week. We’re so grateful to have found this product, and my daughter was overjoyed that it healed her arm.”
This is why I do what I do. Hearing stories like this, the real impact, gives me the motivation to keep learning, creating, and making tallow. This is my why, and I just wanted to share.
